Uvita and the Costa Ballena

Boat trips around Uvita center on marine wildlife and snorkeling near Marino Ballena National Park, where park rules, the seasons and sea conditions all matter. A boat leaving from Uvita isn't a quick trip from Manuel Antonio: plan for the drive.

Sierpe and Drake Bay

The Sierpe River is the classic route to Drake Bay: river, mangroves, then out through the river mouth to the Pacific. It's transport, not a yacht cruise, so ask about luggage limits, tides, the sea state, where you board and how you get to your lodge.

Golfito and Golfo Dulce

Inside the gulf, the water is ringed by rainforest hills. Golfito is a practical base for cruising sailors, fishing trips and travelers. Banana Bay Marina has slips, sportfishing and a restaurant; Fish Hook Marina & Lodge combines slips with rooms and a waterfront restaurant. Visiting yachts should confirm every service they need: a small marina isn't a full boatyard.

Puerto Jiménez and the Osa

Across the gulf, Puerto Jiménez is the gateway to the Osa Peninsula, with fishing at Crocodile Bay and wildlife trips on the water. On a remote coast, departures depend more on local logistics than they do at the big marinas.

A coast that rewards patience

Rain, tides and the forest are part of the story here, and a little flexibility makes the trip better. Choose operators who respect the weather, wildlife and local rules, and use their official pages for current departures and prices.
