Excellent service and great price. Jose Solis is extremely helpful and a very nice person. He always tries to get you arrive as one of the first groups to the island, greeted by flawless white sand beaches, beautiful landscapes, and stunning emerald water. Arriving earlier gives everyone the chance to explore the nature trails alone or just soak up paradise and sun in peace.

As soon as they arrive at the island refreshments, fruits and snacks are served for everyone. They go out on two snorkeling trips to a special location off island where you can see Porcupine fish, King Angelfish, Morays, Spotted Eagle Rays and much much more. These are optional trips to go on, but highly recommended because of the splendor and abundance of sea life.

They sill have plenty of time to enjoy the island where each person can carry out different activities such as kayaking, volleyball, and souvenir shopping. Lunch is a delicious meal served with fruit, soft drinks, beers, juice and water.

After enjoying this wonderful meal they embark on their second snorkeling trip, or you can choose between resting under a palm tree, swimming, playing a game of beach volleyball, or hiking to the top of the island for breathtaking views and diverse flora and fauna.

TORTUGA ISLAND | Calypso Cruise

Jose Solis makes you feel right at home in Jaco Beach. He is very professional and personable. He makes you feel like family. Upon arrival in Puntarenas you will board Calypso’s super catamaran “Manta Raya”, designed by Calypso Passengers suggestions since 1975.

Jose is very reliable and has excellent English. “Manta Raya” features fresh water showers and full bar. The spacious main salon combines with an expansive deck area which includes 2 deck pools, offering a level of cruising luxury and comfort in 100% Calypso style.

Once underway the “Manta Raya” makes her way to the Gulf of Nicoya.

Her white clad crew pampers guests with fresh tropical fruits and drinks. In the morning the catamaran will pass the islands of San Lucas, Gypsy, Sugar Loaf, Guayabo, Jesusita, Cedros and Negritos with Tortuga Island as the destination.

Particularly enchanting for it’s beauty, Tortuga Island is known for its immaculate white sand beach and turquoise waters, a perfect stop for swimming, snorkeling and Calypso’s famous lunch. For passenger safety and convenience Manta Raya has a bow ramp which allows her passengers to disembark directly onto the beach.Sip cold wine in the shade of white umbrellas at tables covered with white linen and be served the midday feast. A sumptuous delight starts with a ceviche appetizer and followed by a medley of salads. The main dish is a delightful bbq breast of chicken covered in a mouthwatering tropical sauce accompanied with julienned vegetables all cooked fresh on the grill by Calypso’s expert crew.The Captain and his crew are the masters of this seascape.
